INTERVIEW WITH TOMÁŠ KREMLE, AUTHOR OF MAX - A COMIC FOR CHILDREN AGAINST DOG BREEDING

Interview with Tomáš Kreml, author of MAXE - a comic for children against the breeding of dogs

The issue of multiplexers is still a hot topic and a big problem. As long as there is a demand, there will also be a supply of puppies from breeders, in which females suffer mainly because they have to give birth repeatedly. A good weapon in the fight against breeding sites is education. And that's why a comic was created with the story of Maxík, which shows people what can happen if they buy a dog from a breeder. We interviewed its author Tomáš Kreml.

WHAT IS A MULTIPLIER?

You can imagine multi-eateries as a heartless device whose main purpose is to make as much money as possible for as little as possible . I will try to describe one of the many multipliers for illustration. Cages or enclosures, ubiquitous dirt and stench and X dogs of one or more breeds in them. Most kept dogs cannot see the sun, grass, trees. Their life is a cage or enclosure, the stench, the dirt. Pain in the body, pain in the soul. That's the life of a breeder dog. Bitches have to give birth with every heat to keep the money ticking. If a female has few litters or is not self-sufficient during childbirth, the breeder will quickly get rid of her. What about her too, right? After all, the breeder will not feed the scumbags!

Until recently, the term breeding facility was just a media name for any reproduction of animals without proof of origin, whether commercial or non-commercial in nature. Now the duplicator is processed into legal language and defines it as "a facility in which dogs or cats are bred and bred in inappropriate conditions that cause them to suffer and in larger numbers that do not allow them to meet their physiological, biological or ethological needs", where "breeder" includes such an establishment whose "main purpose of activity is not the reproduction of animals or the making of a profit."

29_1_max_komiks.jpg WHY SHOULD PEOPLE NOT PURCHASE DOGS OR OTHER ANIMALS FROM A KENNEL?

If a person really likes animals, he cannot be indifferent to who he buys a puppy from. It is not just about that particular puppy, but also bitches and dogs that are kept in such facilities in completely unsuitable conditions . You buy a puppy, bitches giving birth and cover dogs are preparing for the next reproduction.

A common argument of these buyers is: “ So what! If I don't buy it, someone else will."

And my answer is always: " If no one buys them, it is not profitable for the breeder to keep breeding dogs and make money from them." It is really essential that the future owner first finds out, where to buy a puppy Ideally, he should not look at advertisements, which are mainly used by those who reproduce and sell as their main sales channel.

So if you're going to get a puppy and think everything through, you should contact a kennel that has a trademark and is thus authorized to issue pedigree certificates for its puppies. The pedigree certificate (usually marked with the abbreviation PP) will give you information about the origin of your canine friend. It is a kind of birth certificate of a dog, where its family tree is recorded, several generations back.

Often the proof of origin (PP) is ridiculed, that the papers are useless or another argument "I don't want to go to shows, so why buy an overpriced puppy."

PP does not mean an obligation to attend exhibitions and they are certainly of no use. The fact that the family tree is listed in the certificate of origin has its own justification. As I mentioned at the beginning, in what conditions the breeder breeds, how he does not care about the welfare and health of his dogs and does not even look at what kind of dog he covers with a bitch in heat. So it can happen that this bitch will be covered by a dog that is her father or brother or even a son from the previous litter. This breeding will most likely affect your dog's health in the form of genetic diseases. A cheap puppy from a breeder without PP then can increase the cost of more frequent visits to the veterinarian .

Therefore, if a puppy, then with a certificate of origin. The team you minimize potential health risks , because, among other things, breeders have to test their breeding individuals for various genetic variations and choose suitable individuals for mating. But there is one rule that should be applied to everything we buy. Verify yourself! Search and ask for reviews. Even registered breeders do not have to care about the welfare of their breeding.

The correct choice is i adoption . On the one hand, you will not support the breeder, and above all, you will give a home to someone who is waiting for it, sometimes for a desperately long time. Any good shelter will tell you what you need to know about the dog. You can also arrange a walk to get to know the dog first, how it behaves and whether you are a good match for each other. Such an animal is then grateful and happy to have its master.

HOW TO RECOGNIZE A MULTIPLIER FROM A REAL BREEDER? IS IT ALREADY AS ADVERTISED?

Above all, one should not look for a puppy in an advertisement. It is ideal to choose a kennel after considering what breed suits my lifestyle. Here you need to book in advance get recommended or verified , which is relatively easy. The problem is that people often want a puppy right away. You often have to book a puppy in advance with a decent breeder and it can take up to six months. So you have to take that into account.

WHAT DO MULTIPLIERS TYPICALLY ADS?

Multipliers usually don't say much. We can often see puppies stuck somewhere on a blanket or grass. Mostly in photos you will not see a puppy in a family environment with a bitch . Multiplier for you now too doesn't mention his name , he tries to prevent you from finding negative reviews about him, for example. That's why often changes phone number or email .

WHAT IS YOUR COMIC ABOUT?

The story of Maxík , a puppy who was born primarily to be easy money for a person who saw an opportunity to make money easily.

Acquiring a dog in the family is a big step and very often children want a puppy. That's why the Max comic is aimed at them. In the story, readers get to know Alice, who has been wanting a puppy for a long time and her parents give it to her for her birthday. They bought Maxík on an advertising portal, and over time it turns out that he comes from a copy shop. Max gets sick and we'll leave it as a surprise for the readers how it all turns out with him. Like any children's story, this one will have a happy ending.

However, Maxík's mission is not only to spread awareness, but also to help. Anyone who buys a comic will contribute to the treatment dogs and cats. The next parts of the comics will be with the story of the animals who were helped thanks to Max.

At the end of the comic, we have prepared a bonus for children in the form of various coloring pages and crossword puzzles.

HOW DID THE IDEA FOR THE COMICS BIRTH? IS IT BEHIND SOME PERSONAL BAD EXPERIENCE?

Education should be conducted with a human approach. The scholar did not fall from the sky. We believe stories reach more people than anything else. And children are hope. We believe that children can perceive the world many times more sensitively than any adult.

Maxik is not a real, concrete story, but his fate is inspired by the fates of dozens of similar stories.

WHO WOULD YOU RECOMMEND HIM TO?

Although the comic is aimed at children's readers, we believe that it will also appeal to those who have already completed school.

You can buy the comic in our e-shop or in stores in Újezd or Vinohrady for CZK 89.
