THE FIRST DOG SHOW OR WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU START
The show season is slowly starting and you are thinking about trying to show your pet dog for the first time? So let's take a look together at what you should know and what to prepare for.
TYPES OF EXHIBITIONS ORGANIZED IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND HOW TO REGISTER FOR THEM
Many exhibitions are held in the Czech Republic every year. These are exhibitions regional , regional , club , National and international .
Regional and regional exhibitions are generally shows with smaller participation, where you will not meet many representatives of your breed, but they are great to start with for initial training and looking around in a show environment.
You will definitely meet most dogs of your breed at exhibitions club ones , whose organizer is, as the name already suggests, the club covering the dog breed in question. National and international exhibitions are shows with a high participation of dogs of all breeds, whether from the Czech Republic or from abroad, and the judges are very often also foreign.
Where can you actually find a list of exhibitions held in the Czech Republic and how to sign up for them?
Most exhibitions can only be entered through the website www.dogoffice.cz , where you will also find a list of almost all exhibitions held in the Czech Republic. Here you first need to register, fill in information about yourself and your dog, attach a scanned pedigree, and then you can sign up for any exhibition. Here you will also find proposals with all the information about the given exhibition, the number of registered dogs and also the results of the exhibitions that have already taken place.
You can also find an overview of all exhibitions held on the website of the Czech-Moravian Cynological Union and of club exhibitions on the website of the club covering the given breed.
WHAT YOUR DOG SHOULD DEFINITELY DO AT THE EXHIBITION
At the dog show, it is desirable that your dog performs as well as possible. It is important to learn position (the dog should be able to stand still), for small and medium breeds both on the ground and on the table. Large breeds only stand on the ground.
Furthermore, he must be able to show teeth and in males, the testicles are also checked, which the dog must touch.
In the end, it is important movement , namely a trot on the exhibitor's left leg.
WHAT YOU CAN'T DO WITHOUT AT THE EXHIBITION
Don't forget to take the exhibition with you entry sheet (confirmation of registration for the given exhibition), which will be sent to you by e-mail a few days before the exhibition, further Pass of Origin and Certificate of Vaccination with valid vaccinations.
Don't forget to take your dog with you exhibition guide , water bowl , motivational treats and if he is used to it, so too a travel crate/handle where he can rest. After all, such an exhibition is a matter of several hours.
Above all, don't forget to thoroughly enjoy the exhibition! You will see many other beautiful dogs here, not only of the same breed, and you will certainly meet many other nice owners.
